Tree Planting

If it involves playing or digging in anything that remotely resembles mud,sand or water; she especially likes a combination of the three together; you will usually find Shayla knee deep in it. So you can imagine the excitement when she saw our neighbor Jo bring a tree home to plant.

Shayla loves to help in the garden.

She is even willing to give advice on how deep and big the hole should be.

Well the tree will go right here Jo, but the hole needs to be deeper.

 What a beautiful Maple tree! There are going to be lots of leaves to rake when it grows up!

Secret Garden

Having a secret garden is every little girls dream. Shayla has one full of fairies, a mystical pond with its resident toad, a big sand box surrounded with beautiful flowers, and plenty of berries and vegetables to help her grow.

There is a butterfly that keeps look out through the night on its perch at the top of the stump, changing color in warning.

 Little critters can be found hiding just about everywhere, while St.Francis ensures the garden grows beautifully.

The peaceful sound of water can always be heard at the pond with the toad basking in the sun and water princess playing her harp.

 

There are archways and pathways that will lead you on all kinds of adventures through this magical world.

 Shayla loves spending time getting dirty in the sand.

But mostly she loves the time she can spend playing and exploring, even stopping once in a while to rest on the swing.

 

We are very lucky to have such a beautiful garden that extends off of our backyard. Even luckier to have great neighbors who allow Shayla to play and explore in it and love that all the hard work they put into it is really appreciated. Thank you.

Welcome to Shayla's World

I thought it might be fun to share Shayla's adventures a little more frequently. She is mischievous and has a smile of the pixies. When in trouble all she has to do is look at you and smile that cheeky little smile. Her beautiful eyes say so much!

I'm not doing anything I shouldn't be.

She usually has a little help and direction from her companions.

If the sun is shining you are sure to find her outside, even if it's not she just loves to be out. She has an abundance of energy and just when we think we've played her out she has another burst. I wish I had half of her energy.

Catch Me!

She loves all the little things and nothing gets past her eyes. If it's some spider spinning a web, small snake squiggling by, playing with a butterfly, or just checking for budding flowers on her mother's almost failed attempt at a green thumb. Luckily Shayla found a pretty little hummingbird (who has his own little story) at the Co-op store to make it pretty.
